 RECENT ACTIVITIES & CME

I -A WORKSHOP ON PHARMACOVIGILANCE – “A Clinician’s Perspective” was organized in the Council Hall by the Department of Pharmacology, Dr S N Medical College, Jodhpur, in association with the “Knowledge Academy” on 07.12.2011, was a very successful scientific session.

It was inaugurated by Dr. R.K. Aseri, Principal and Controller of the institute by his welcome and introductory address on the subject.  A talk was delivered by Dr. (Mrs) Omi Chouhan, Professor and Head of Pharmacology on the subject and various activities conducted by the department for this subject.  Dr. G.D. Khilnani, an eminent speaker of the session, discussed the subject for about 60 minutes.  Dr. Akhil Chattwal (Manager, Abbott Knowledge Academy), briefed our team and Principal prior to the workshop and there was a brief introduction by Mr. Manoj Prabhu, about this scientific forum and various activities held by tem, throughout the year, in the country.

In between the event, felicitation of Senior Teachers and other faculty members was also done.  This scientific session was attended by about 161 persons from our medical faculty.  All the participants were given the ‘Certificate of Participation’ along with a kit containing a valuable CD on the subject.  The target of the workshop was to give the basic knowledge regarding the subject, specially to undergraduates, interns, postgraduates, etc.

Anchoring of the event was carried out by Dr. (Mrs) Neeta Trehan.  Our faculty members, Dr. Rajkumar Rathore and Dr. Kamal K Khichi welcomed all the delegates and participants.  This venture made successful by a query session too, by the learned Pharmacologists.  Lastly, Dr. (Mrs) Anusuya Gehlot, has given a word of Thanks.  Event was followed with high tea and sacks.

ME was organized on PHARMACOVIGILANCE by  department of pharmacology on June 16, 2011 in college auditorium.  Topics were-

III  - Video Conference On Pharmacovigilance Dated 11th June 2014

A Tele-CME was on Pharmacovigilance was conducted on 11th June, 2014 by Department of Pharmacology  coordinated by Dr. Anusuya Gehlot (Professor, Pharmacology) and Medical Education Unit with IT Cell, Dr S N Medical College, Jodhpur coordinated by Dr. Manish Parakh (Professor, Pediatrics and Coordinator Video-conferencing). This Tele-CME was conducted for a duration of 2 hours with Dr. Sudhir Bansod MD from Switzerland who talked about Pharmacovigilance, its principles and practice in Indian scenario. After a Welcome address from Dr. Gehlot, Dr. K. C. Agarwal (Principal & Controller) blessed the success of this venture. This was followed by a Pre-Assessment Questionnaire completion by the participants. After the talk a Post-Assessment Questionnaire, was also administered to the participants in pursuance with Continuous Medical Education (CME) of undergraduate students. The participants had a thorough discussion and the program was by high tea. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. A. Gehlot and Dr. K. C. Agarwal (Principal & Controller) restressed the need for more such academic activities and conveyed thanks to Dr. Sudhir Bansod.

 

IV -   CME ON DRUG INVENTION & DEVELOPMENT AND ON NECESSITY OF PHARMACOVIGILANCE    
         Dated 5th July 2014

A CME on the topic Drug Invention & Development and on Necessity of Pharmacovigilance. This CME was conducted for duration of one hour, was held on 5th July 2014 (1-2:00 pm) at College Council Hall, Dr. S. N. Medical College, Jodhpur. The Guest speakers were Dr. K. K. Sharma (Retd. PHOD, Pharmacology, U.C.M.S., Delhi) and Dr. S. K. Srivastava (PHOD, Pharmacology, Municipal Medical College, Surat ). Event was started with a welcome address by Dr. Omi Chouhan

( Sr.PHOD, Pharmacology, Dr. S.N.M.C., Jodhpur).The participants had a thorough discussion and the programme was followed by tea. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Anusuya Gehlot (Professor, Pharmacology, Dr. S.N.M.C.,  Jodhpur).

 

V - WORKSHOP ON PHARMACOVIGILANCE

 Dr. Anusuya Gehlot (Senior Professor & Co-ordinator, Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre,Dr. S.N.Medical College, Jodhpur),and

Dr. Raj Kumar Rathore(Associate Professor & Deputy Co-ordinator), AMC have attended an Induction cum Training , held at National Commisiom Centre-Indian Pharmacopeia Commission,Ghaziabad,U.P.,from 26th-27th July 2016.

 

VI - workshop on ''Introduction to Cochrane Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis

 Dr Anusuya Gehlot (Senior Professor) and Dr Raj Kumar Rathore (Associate Professor), have participated in the workshop on ''Introduction to Cochrane Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis",held at AllMS,Jodhpur on 20th August 2016.Rajasthan Medical Council has granted 2 credit hours to delegates. 

 

VII. Synopses of two PhD scholars ( Mr. Najmul Hasan & Mrs. Monika Sharma) have been sent to RUHS under guideship of Dr. Anusuya Gehlot .

 

VIII. Under the supervision of Dr. A. L. Bhat (P&C) , Dr. Anusuya Gehlot (coordinator AMC) and Mr. Ashok Kumar (PA, AMC) regularly sensitizing  MBBS, MD students, nursing staff &faculty members from various Deptts. in collaboration with IPC, Ghaziabad.

 

 IX)  Dr A Gehlot,organized a lecture on Sprituality and Science, in collaboration with ISCON on 07/04/2017, at Dr SNMCollege, Jodhpur. Speaker was from IIM-Udaipur

X)  A CME -HEALTH FOR ALL,was organized by Department of Pharmacology and Adverse Monitoring Center (AMC),under PvPI,in collaboration with Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ghaziabad, UP on 28/07/2017,at College Council Hall,Dr.S.N.Medical College, Jodhpur (Rajasthan).

       Guest speaker, Dr. S S Prasad, PHOD, Pharmacology, GMERS Medical College, Himmat Nagar, Gujrat, delievered lecture  on HW 6 ( Health and Disease, a three dimensional conception). Dr A L Bhat (Chairperson, Principal & Controller) emphasized , importance of detection, reporting of ADRs. He also instructed to faculty members, participants,nursing staff, etc. regarding regular reporting from this institute,should be taken besides prescribing. Dr. A. Gehlot ( Co-ordinator), presented the progress report of centre (July 2016-July2017), prescription audit report, also delievered a lecture, on Scope Of Pharmacovigilance, IPC,etc. Mr Ashok Kumar (Pharmacovigilance Associate) has described How to  fill ADR form, a hands on training,was given to all participants.About 66 participants, from institute, periphery (PHC, CHC, Satellite Hospitals), post graduates, Nursing Suptds, etc. registered during this event.
