Introduction
Department of Medicine is backbone of any hospital and our department caters to more than 500 patients every day. It provides services to all strata of population and has very wide coverage area involving whole of Western Rajasthan and even beyond. People with a wide variety of illnesses including complex disorders are taken care of. This includes rheumatological disorders, immunological diseases, infective illnesses, neurological disorders as well as patients with cardiovascular, endocrinological and other disorders. The department also provides indoor services and is increasing its capacity to meet the growing demands for admissions. We also have facility for intensive care & monitoring for indoor patients. Illustrative core missions for departments of medicine are “to maximize health and eliminate suffering”Our departmental specific core activities are caring for people, teaching, and creating knowledge, and specifically serving our community more broadly. Our department describe missions as “to inspire interest in the prevention of disease and the promotion of human health, to cultivate biomedical discovery, and educate tomorrow’s leaders for internal medicine,to bridge basic science, health services research and clinical care through innovative, inclusive, disciplined leadership in clinical service, education, and science,”
Aims and Objectives:
Our department concerned to provide better facilities for outdoor, indoor as well as emergency services.
1. Obtains, records, and communicates an accurate history and physical exam appropriately using a comprehensive or focused approach.
2. Utilizes supplemental laboratory and diagnostic studies to support the most likely diagnoses.
3. Interprets and synthesizes the clinical information in developing a diagnostic and therapeutic management plan.
4. Demonstrates a commitment to involve the patient in their own care.
5. Communicates effectively and demonstrates caring and respectful behaviors when interacting with patients and their families.
6. Works with healthcare professionals to provide patient-focused care.
Teaching activities :-
We proposed a designed to give medical students multi-source teaching experience (lecture- and small group-based) and feedback on their teaching (from learners and Faculty observers, in addition to their own self-reflection) can improve medical student confidence and enthusiasm towards teaching.
